Department of Geotechnology

On Saturday and Sunday 24-25 March 2018, the Department of Geotechnology was honored by a group of alumni at PTTEP who gave a lecture and organized a workshop on petroleum geology and exploration for about 30 students from the 3rd and 4th year classes.

This activity is held annually and was initiated by P' Nutthawut Chuemthaisong (G14) about 16 years ago who volunteered his own time and money to come to teach the students. Later on, PTTEP recognized the benefits of this activity and gave their formal support. Recently, the Geotechnology Alumni Association also saw the importance of this activity and gave support for food expenses.

Within the period of one day and a half, the attending students received enormous amount of knowledge, fun, and friendship from the alumni as well as inspiration and encouragement for studying in the last year of their university life. This valuable experience cannot be found anywhere else, so we are very grateful to all the alumni who sacrificed their personal or family time to create this great opportunity for the students.
