Admission to Graduate Level Programmes

The graduate level programmes can be applied through the website of the Graduate School. Requirements for each programme are described below.

Application to the the Doctorate Program requires a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) or Master's degree (or equivalent) in Geotechnology, Geology, or any related field. The applicant is required a minimum grade point average of 3.50 or equivalent or at the discretion of the program committee.

Suggestions about how to apply

Because the graduate program is opened to students with various backgrounds and interests, it is recommended that applicants should contact professors who are potential thesis advisers in advance and secure a thesis adviser before submitting the application through the graduate school in order to make sure that once you are accepted into the program, you will have a thesis adviser that is interested in the same research topic.

The best way to do this would be to send an email introducing yourself with a summary of your research interest to the professor you are interested in working with.

Graduate Level Scholarships

Scholarship for Thai Students

There are 5 scholarships available each year for Thai students studying in the graduate program in Geotechnology. The scholarship covers tuition for the entire study period which is 2 years for the master's level and 3 years for the doctorate level.

Applicants for this scholarship must be a graduate student studying in the first semester with minimum grade point average in the Bachelor's level of 3.00. Interested applicants can apply for the scholarship by informing the head of the department at the beginning of the first semester. This means that all students that receive scholarships will have to advance their own money for the first semester.

Scholarship for International Students from ASEAN and GMS Countries

There are 2 scholarships available each year for international students that are nationals of the ASEAN or GMS (Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia) countries. The scholarship covers tuition and monthly allowance of 8,000 Baht for the entire study period which is 2 years for the master's level and 3 years for the doctorate level.

To apply for this scholarship, applicants must be accepted by a thesis adviser, then notify the department head before the interview date which is set by the graduate school (generally in mid April for those applying for the first semester and in mid October for those applying for the second semester). Applications must be completed online through the International Affairs Division.
